The Way of Holiness

The Way of Holiness
In 1837, at the age 30, Phoebe Palmer consecrated herself to God and later experienced what she called entire sanctification.

Palmer was concerned with preaching and teaching John Wesley's views of entire sanctification, but with a few modifications. She identified entire sanctification with the baptism of the Holy Spirit. Entire sanctification was acheived, she believed, by entire consecration to the Lord, faith and testimony.

"The Way of Holiness", published in 1843, was compiled from the journals of her own experience of consecration and sanctification; it outlines much of her theology of holiness, faith and testimony. Though abridged and edited, none of the original meaning has been lost. Pilgrims today will still find its counsel helpful in pursuing the way to that holiness of life which God has called His people to follow.
